About Us
On March 2, 2006 three college freshmen headed to the store to pick up some stuff for their first Spring break. Two of the three did not survive the trip.
Andy Hopkins was driving the car that was struck head-on by a drunk driver who turned out to have eleven prior DUI convictions. The crash left Grace Chamberlain lifeless in the passenger seat and critically injured Evan DaSilva.
Andy and Evan were taken by life-flight to Cleveland’s Metro Health Hospital. After a brave battle, Andy died from his injuries. Evan was treated in Metro Health for five more weeks, undergoing several surgeries, and enduring a painful rehabilitation process.
Recognizing that our loss is sadly far from unique … on average someone’s loved one dies in an encounter with a drunk driver every day in Ohio … we joined the fight to remove drunk drivers from Ohio roads.
Andy’s Army now consists of thousands of concerned folks from across the State who are working to save lives. If you would like to take part in this effort, we invite you to enlist through this site. We do not solicit funds or share your name with other organizations. We do provide useful information and invite your action when opportunities arise to make a difference. If you have questions or suggestions about our efforts, drop us a note. Together we can put an end to the carnage taking place on Ohio’s highways.
